A. Marian Tranter Contents page
Little is known of A. Marian Tranter. She may be the Agnes Marion Tranter who was born in 1874 at Yarpturk (Great Ocean Road, Western Victoria) to Charles Evenden Tranter, and Marian (nee Roberts), and who died at Heidelberg (Victoria) in 1935. The 28-page booklet of poems featured here, ‘The Call of the Bush and Other Poems’, was apparently written circa 1917–18, and perhaps published in 1918 or 1919. The verse is sentimental, patriotic, and conventional.
