Cassie Lewis (b.1974) is a writer currently (2005) living in upstate New York. She writes poetry, reviews, essays and hybrid prose. A 2005 work can be seen in raw draft form at www.thejetty.blogspot.com. She sporadically publishes handmade chapbooks through her small press, Poetry Espresso. Poetry Espresso is a ‘catch all’ for some other enterprises, most notably a poetry listserv she admistered and moderated from 2000 to 2004. She has been published widely internationally, and anthologised both in the United States and Australia.
From 2000 to 2004 she lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, a profoundly inspiring and liberating experience, which will continue to inform her work.
Some data: born in New Guinea in 1974; three chapbooks; a number of collaborative chapbooks; two full-length manuscripts that need to be sent to publishers.
Endearing personal snippets: wants to buy a St Bernard dog; is in love with both the concept and material experience of snowstorms.
